Finance Manager - Zambia

Are you a driven finance professional ready to step into a high-impact leadership role in the education sector? Pestalozzi Education Center - a mission-driven school committed to shaping the next generation of African leaders – is looking for an experienced Finance Manager (FM) to lead our financial operations in Zambia with strategic vision and operational excellence. As part of the Enko Education network, PEC benefits from a dynamic pan-African ecosystem of schools that are transforming access to high-quality international education across the continent.

You are a finance professional with solid expertise in local accounting and tax regulations, backed by 2–3 years of hands-on experience in external audit and/or financial management. You are confident in your ability to manage the full finance cycle, from daily transaction recording to financial statement analysis.  Tech-savvy and adaptable , you are comfortable navigating ERPs, cloud-based accounting systems, BI tools, and the Google suite. You are also a clear and persuasive communicator, capable of presenting complex financial data in a way that drives smart decisions at the highest level. If you speak both English and French, that is a strong plus in our international context.

Reporting to the Group Finance Manager and working closely with the Head of School, the Finance Manager is the finance leader and strategic business partner for our campus in Lusaka. This is more than a back-office job,  it is a hands-on, high-responsibility role at the heart of school operations.

You will oversee everything from financial reporting and budgeting to compliance, audits, and stakeholder management. In the absence of the Head of School, the FM also steps up to lead support functions, showing strong leadership and initiative.

Key responsibilities

  • Own and execute all core financial processes – including audit, budgeting, and monthly reporting - with precision and timeliness.

  • Present financials confidently to Boards, General Assemblies, and external stakeholders.

  • Ensure full compliance with local tax and regulatory laws.

  • Be the go-to person for financial decisions, using your analytical skills to drive business performance.

  • Lead and train the local finance team, building capacity through use of the FM Playbook.

  • Monitor and deliver on key finance KPIs (collection rate, EBITDA, compliance with internal controls, accuracy, and timeliness of monthly reports)

Ideal candidate

As an ideal candidate, you are:

  • Experienced and technically strong: Minimum 2–3 years in accounting and/or external audit, with solid knowledge of local accounting standards, tax regulations, and end-to-end financial processes

  • Digitally fluent: Proficient in Google Workspace and experienced with ERPs, cloud-based accounting tools, and business intelligence platforms

  • Clear communicator: Able to present financial insights convincingly to senior stakeholders; bilingual in English and French is a strong advantage

  • Intrapreneurial mindset: Autonomous, assertive, and self-driven, with the ability to lead initiatives and make sound decisions independently

  • Strategic and emotionally mature: Combines critical thinking with big-picture vision, stays focused under pressure, and solves problems with clarity and ownership

Contract, location, and timing

  • Contract: full-time;
  • Location: Lusaka, Zambia;
  • Timing: Q4 2025;
  • All applicants must be legally able to work in Zambia with the correct visa/status/work permit.

About Enko Education

Enko Education is a fast-growing group of African international schools, increasing access to the world's best universities for learners across Africa.

Enko Education has developed innovative programmes leading to globally recognised and sought-after qualifications. Since the opening of its first school in Yaoundé in September 2014, Enko Education has established an African group of 15 international schools in 10 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. More than 7,000 students from primary to secondary benefit from international education at a fraction of the cost charged by other international schools on the continent. We provide individualized counselling to our learners to support them in selecting the right universities and then securing both admission and financing for their studies. We offer an outstanding learning experience striving to educate our learners with Africa at heart and the world in mind.

The Enko Education model has already yielded outstanding results with graduates currently enrolled in some of the most prestigious universities worldwide such as Yale College in the USA, Sciences Po and Ecole Polytechnique in France and the University of Toronto in Canada.

We are financially supported by international development institutions and funds including Proparco, I&P, Adiwale, BIO Invest, Oiko Credit and Liquid Africa, to achieve our growth objective of reaching 20,000 students by 2028.

For 2025, we plan to acquire new schools in countries including but not limited to Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Angola, and South Africa (countries are subject to change).
