Physics Teacher
Job Purpose
The Physics Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality Physics instruction, developing students’ scientific knowledge and practical skills, and supporting their academic and personal development in line with the school’s curriculum and educational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Physics lessons appropriate to students’ levels and abilities.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, practical activities and assessments.
- Teach Physics concepts clearly using appropriate teaching methodologies and practical demonstrations.
- Conduct laboratory experiments while ensuring appropriate health and safety procedures are followed.
- Assess students’ learning, provide constructive feedback and track academic progress.
- Identify students who require additional support and implement appropriate interventions.
- Prepare students for internal and external examinations.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, assessments and student progress.
- Participate in departmental meetings, staff meetings and school activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency in teaching and learning.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive and respectful classroom environment.
- Contribute to extracurricular activities and other school initiatives when required.
- Follow the school’s policies, including Child Safeguarding, Code of Conduct, Health & Safety and Internal Regulations.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Physics, Science Education .
- Relevant teaching qualification/certification is an advantage or required where applicable.
- Previous teaching experience, preferably at secondary-school level.
- Good knowledge of Physics curriculum and assessment methods.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to use digital tools to support teaching and learning.
