Director of Finance Operations & Business Efficiency

Are you a visionary leader capable of transforming a growing accounting function into a high-performance, scalable engine? Can you bridge the gap between financial strategy and technological execution while inspiring teams to reach excellence? Do you thrive in scale-up environments where impact is measured by both operational rigour and human transformation?

Enko Education is seeking its future Director of Finance Operations & Business Efficiency to structure the next leap in our financial evolution. You are not just a finance professional; you are a transformational leader building the digital and operational foundations that allow our schools to scale across the continent with surgical precision.

Directly reporting to the Group CFO, you will occupy a unique position at the crossroads of our organization. Your mandate is to oversee and industrialize the finance operations of our school network ("the baseline") while simultaneously spearheading our Business Efficiency and Group Financial Control functions. You are the architect who ensures that local school finance teams are perfectly aligned with group strategy, turning their daily operations into a high-performance engine backed by flawless, real-time data.

With 10 to 15 years of experience—ideally in Audit/Consulting, Regional Finance Management, or a multi-site scale-up—you are a tech-savvy leader who knows how to optimize SaaS ecosystems to eliminate low-value tasks and drive collective performance across diverse borders.

About the Role

You will spearhead the "Finance 2028" transformation, acting as the bridge between central strategy and field execution to guarantee reliability, speed, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy & "Finance 2028" Roadmap: Define and lead a 3-year transformation plan to align our financial organization, systems, and talent with the group’s massive growth ambitions.
  • Network Finance Oversight: Lead the finance operations of our school network, standardizing processes across all regions to ensure that every school operates with the same level of rigour and transparency.
  • Industrialization & Shared Services: Design and launch a Finance Shared Service Center to centralize accounting operations, driving significant EBITDA gains and freeing up local school teams to focus on business partnering.
  • Tech-Stack & Business Efficiency: Act as the strategic lead for Finance systems, harmonizing our software ecosystem to ensure 100% digital workflows and total data consistency between operations and accounting.
  • Operational Control & "Laser" Diagnostic: Implement automated consistency checks to move the group from manual verification to high-level supervision, identifying "root cause" anomalies in real-time across the baseline.
  • Leadership & Team Transformation: Mentor a diverse, pan-African team. You will shift their culture from "data-entry" mindsets to proactive "Business Partners" who challenge and influence school leadership, ensuring that every financial decision at the school level is a catalyst for performance.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a hybrid leader: a visionary who understands the future of finance, an expert in multi-country operations, and a mentor capable of elevating the standards of a pan-African team.

Your profile in 5 points:

  1. Senior Financial Expertise: Deep experience in multi-country/multi-currency consolidation and financial reporting within complex, fast-paced environments.
  2. Inspirational & Assertive Leader: You possess natural authority and the emotional intelligence to manage diverse, multi-country teams. You don’t just delegate; you build high-performing teams by coaching your managers and setting a clear, exciting vision.
  3. Tech-Champion: You have a natural affinity for technology. You know how to architect a SaaS ecosystem to ensure data flows seamlessly from the schools to the group P&L.
  4. Diagnostic Genius: You possess a "sixth sense" for numbers—you can spot a weak link in a process or a financial statement in minutes and propose a structural solution.
  5. Operational Grit: The ability to shift instantly from board-level strategy to "hands-on" field execution, ensuring that group-wide standards are perfectly executed at the local school level.

Why Join Us?

  • A Mission with Purpose: Directly contribute to the sustainability of a project that is revolutionizing education across Africa.
  • True Ownership & Influence: You have a blank canvas to design your roadmap, lead our finance culture, and see the immediate impact of your work on the group's performance.
  • Agility & Impact: We value results over bureaucracy. You will enjoy a high degree of autonomy to move fast, break silos, and implement best-in-class solutions.
  • Professional Growth: Navigate complex, multi-country challenges in a high-competency environment that rewards initiative, humility, and a "builder" mindset.

Our Recruitment Process

  1. Culture Fit Interview: To ensure our mission and "scale-up" DNA resonate with you.
  2. Operational & Tech Interview: A deep dive into your mastery of financial systems and your vision for industrialization.
  3. Case Study: A pragmatic exercise focused on diagnostic and "Shared Service Center" strategy.
  4. Career Interview: To discuss your long-term vision with our CEO  and Executive team.

Welcome to Enko!
